Does the stew meat need to be cooked prior to placing in the crock pot?

Good morning! I have SUCH an easy and family pleasing crock pot recipe to share with you all today! Stew meat is one of my favorite types to throw in the slow cooker. It is a tough(er) and cheap(er) cut of meat that takes some time to cook low and slow but with a little know how, a good recipe and a crock pot, it makes a delicious meal! This meal is prepped in the crock pot in about 2 minutes. Then you stir in sour cream at the end and serve it over hot buttered noodles. Doesn’t get any easier than that!

Crock Pot Beef & Mushroom Stroganoff

Ingredients

1.5 lbs stew meat

16 oz slices fresh mushrooms

1 package onion soup mix

1 can cream of mushroom

1 beef bouillon cube

1/2 cup water

8 oz sour cream

salt & pepper to taste

hot buttered noodles

fresh parsley if desired

Directions

Add stew meat, mushrooms, onion soup mix, cream of mushroom, bouillon cube and water to slow cooker. Give it a little stir and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Stir in sour cream and salt & pepper to taste and serve over cooked noodles. Garnish with parsley if desired. Enjoy!
