Garlic Herb Cheese Bombs

Garlic Herb Cheese Bombs

Garlic Herb Cheese Bombs

That looks amazing! I don’t think we’ll be able to find refrigerated biscuit in London, can you please recommend a substitute? Does that mean I’ll have to make fresh bread dough?

This is what I use, I am not sure about the equivalent there: http://www.pillsbury.com/products/biscuits/pillsbury-biscuits/buttermilk

Can you give us idea where we can find easily Pillsbury biscuits refrigerated dough in Malaysia??

I am sorry but I think you can’t get it in Malaysia.

Hi Bee,

This garlic cheese bomb looks great! I would like to try them and has been following and testing your earlier recipes too. Where can I get the refrigerated biscuit? Is that a biscuit or bread? It looks like soft bread to me. Thanks!

refrigderated biscuit are similar to a plain scone.

Dear Bee,

Regarding your Garlic Herb Cheese Bomb recipe, you mentioned cans of refrigerated biscuits. What are they? I don’t believe I can find it where I am in Malaysia. Is there a substitute?? Thank you.

They are amazing, just like you

Awww, thanks so much! :)

My niece also lives in Malaysia so I understand not having the same product availability. I would think that any biscuit or bread recipe could also work as long as it was made a little “stiffer/drier” than usual so it was more mold-able. Anything that makes a dough that can be formed into balls around the cheese & then sealed up & baked.

I have substituted “Bisquick” brand muffin/biscuit/pancake mix when I needed to have these for a work luncheon the next day but didn’t have the refrigerated biscuits at home & couldn’t get to the grocery. It worked ok but was a little more labor intensive for forming dough balls around the cheese chunks.

Hi,

I live in Singapore and have not heard of refrigerated biscuits. Can you explain or suggest substitutes?

Many thanks!

Regards

All I had to do was look at the picture and I knew I would be making them, then after looking at the recipe I was even MORE happy to see how easy it is to make them! Thanks.

Kath, yes, it’s so easy to make and oh-sooooo-gooooood.

My family is going to love me when I make them these.

Yes, they will and make sure they eat these garlic herb cheese bombs hot off the oven!

Hi,

i checked your link for the refrigerated biscuits. But its not really available in normal supermarket and not sure where u can get it. Thus, this recipe not really affordable and a hassle to make.

can you give an alternative – how to make the dough then?

I am based in the US and for us it’s something very affordable and easy to make. I am not sure about substitute, but perhaps any brand of frozen biscuit dough will work.

Hi!

I just made these. I placed the seam down, and most of the bread was cooked, but the sides of the bottom weren’t baked thoroughly and were really raw. However, the top and the middle bottom of the bread was baked completely. Any troubleshooting tips? Thanks!

I didn’t have this issue. You have to bake slightly longer. It depends on the heat source from your oven, too, maybe it’s from the top and side and not bottom, so maybe you place in the middle rack? If the top gets dark too fast, then cover with aluminium foil before baking.

I put mine on the middle rack & also turned them over very gently for the last 5 minutes. It worked fine.

I think these are the bomb as well.So so easy to make and very affordable. There is no hassle there forsure. However I do have a question,do you think they could be altered,I use refridgerated dough quite often, and made smaller, using same recipe and have them as horderves.I can see them now done smaller with a dipping sauce in the centre of the platter,,,yummm.I would appreciate you input and thank you for sharing the recipe :)

Francine – I think that’s a great idea. You can definitely make them into mini garlic herb cheese bombs, and serve with marinara sauce. YUM!!!

You could also make a sweet version of these with either a strawberry, raspbery, prune, satsuma segment or small piece of banana with two or three chocolate chips, and drizzle with runny lemon or orange icng, or even watered down honey. For those of you that can’t find the dough, maybe a shortcrust pastry made with self raising flour would work.

That’s a great idea

To those asking, the refrigerated dinner rolls are a soft bread. I believe what we call biscuits in the US, you would call scones. And they’re not going to give you the same results. So use a soft bread and roll it into balls. I do not use refrigerated biscuits/dinner rolls as it’s so easy to just make your own. Happy baking!

These are to die for.

to all those who asked about a substitute for the ready to use refrigerated biscuit dough. Here is a recipe that I use for the biscuit dough and gives similar results.

All Purpose Flour (Maida) – 1 cup

Baking Powder – 1 3/4 Teaspoons

Salt – 1/4 Teaspoon

Cream of Tartar – 1/4 Teaspoon

Honey – 1/2 Tablespoon

Butter – 60 grams, cold

Milk – 1/3 cup

In a mixing bowl sieve the flour. Add salt, baking powder and cream of tartar and mix to combine.

Cut the cold butter into cubes and add to the flour.

Either using a food processor or a stand mixer or with knife blend / cut till the butter resembles peas.

Add the honey and milk and mix well to combine.

Knead the dough till it all comes together.

Best would be for Rasa Malaysia to try it out and say if it works.

Hi Yes Cooks, thanks so much for sharing the recipe!! I will try it out. :)

Thanks for the help!

Hi! For the cheese, could I just buy Kraft mozzarella cheese sticks and cut those up into cubes? These look fantastic, by the way!

Sure, you can do that.

hi, these look great! I’m thinking of making these for Christmas for a large group….in your opinion, if I made them ahead of time and kept them refrigerated until I was ready closer to dinner to bake, would you see any issues with that? Thanks for your time.

Potentially the cheese would leak and come out during baking. The closing part might open I am afraid if not baked immediately. You have to close the seal the bottom part very very tight to prevent leakage.

I made these for my Christmas Brunch and they were a hit. I used Crescent Roll dough and they turned out great

These looks awesome! I am just curious about what type of mozzarella you used?

The block and cut into cubes. :)

Hey! I tried making these and the potential was there but All the cheese came out the sides:( My boyfriend enjoyed the garlic herb biscuit though . Any tips on how to keep the cheese from falling out the sides?

You have to seal the bottom really tight. You have to twist twist and twist to have a very close seal.

I’m going to get in so much trouble when my roommate comes home. Because she’s not supposed to eat carbs, but there’s no way she’s going to be able to resist these! Thanks for sharing!

We used to make these when I was younger but instead of making them with the garlic flavoring… my mom would roll them in cinnamon/sugar mixture..giving the sweet taste and the cheesiness.. they were to die for delicious. I am definitely going to try them this way now

Yum, thanks for sharing the tip!!!

Buttermilk Biscuits in Australia is butternut scone mix refrigerated check out this great recipe…http://www.barbarabakes.com/2012/01/buttermilk-biscuits-aka-australian-scones/

Thank you for having this delicious food I loved it I am probely going to have it at my wedding

OMG these are absolutely delicious! I used pizza dough instead of the biscuits and it worked perfeclty fine. What a great, yet so simple dish!

Awesome so glad you love these garlic herb cheese bombs. :)

try adding a piece of pepperoni in these. We call them dough balls. Delicious

Do you use a regular mozzarella cheese or have you ever tried it with fresh mozzarella balls?? I was thinking about getting the ones that already bite size.

Yes you can use mozzarella balls but I used regular ones or these garlic herb cheese bombs.

I made these for my roommate and myself tonight…and ohemgee, they taste even better than they look. They are legitimately the bomb! My roommate who is a cheese lover said this is probably one of the best things she’s had recently. So simple, so affordable and so delicious!

Thanks for sharing <3

Hi Amber, I know there is a reason why they are called the bombs. I have two other similar recipes that you can try: http://rasamalaysia.com/garlic-cheddar-cheese-bombs/ and http://rasamalaysia.com/garlic-butter-cheesy-crescent-rolls/

These Cheese Bombs’ sound and look delicious. I intend to make them very soon and then I will see if I am right on both counts. Thank you for such a quick and easy way to make these tolls.

They are awesome, try these cheese bombs and you will be hooked!

loved this! Easy and delicious. its everything i look for. Thank you. I will be making these more often

I just made mine tonight and they cooked wonderfully except all the cheese exploded out!!!!! The bottom seal was still intact but every single one of them had a hole blown in the side where all the cheese exploded out. talk about a BOMB. So the thing is I planned to make these again for an event tomorrow but now i’m scared it will happen again. Advice????

Twist the opening and seal very tight. That’s the only way to prevent them from leaking out. Keep twisting and pinching! :)

I made these tonight and they were a HIT!!! However, I also had a problem of cheese spilling out! It wasn’t even from the sealed part. It all came from the side :( I don’t know how to prevent it from happening. I tried it twice and both times this happened. The seals were in tact. There were no holes going into the over and there was a new one coming out and no cheese to be found inside :( any suggestions? I know they were sealed perfectly!!

Not sure how you came up with the nutrition fact for the cheese bombs. How can ONE bomb be 99 calories when the biscuit by itself has 100??? Look on the roll of biscuits and now you add cheese butter etc.. they have no calories in your recipe? :-)

Vee – I hired a nutritionist to create the table. It’s properly done and calculated.

Quick, easy, tasty…what else could you ask for? :) (Also, I wasn’t looking to this recipe to be health food, so the calorie counts didn’t bother me.)

we don’t have can of bisciut here what can use to make the cheesy bombs please

Garlic Herb Cheese Bombs – amazing cheese bomb biscuits loaded with Mozzarella cheese and topped with garlic herb butter. Easy recipe that takes 20 mins.

These garlic herb cheese bombs are the bomb. Period. It took me 10 minutes to prep, 10 minutes to bake, and in 20 minutes, these cheesy bombs were out of the oven and ready to be served. How sweet is that?

I know for many people, Thanksgiving dinner is rather stressful as there are so many dishes to make—all from scratch—if you will. There are the perfectly roasted turkey, the warm and fluffy homemade rolls, side dishes, and the desserts, so much so that you have to prep many things in advance.

Now, I don’t mean to ask you to cheat, but if your make-from-scratch dinner rolls somehow don’t proof or rise properly on turkey day and the store is closed, this garlic herb cheese bombs might come to your rescue, provided you have the biscuit dough at home! Yes, they are made with store-bought ingredients, but that doesn’t mean that they are not good. In fact, they are absolutely amazing and your family would probably love them.

This amazing recipe is from Love Bakes Good Cakes. I practically just made them this afternoon with my son. He is off school starting today so I made these garlic herb cheese bombs for him as his afternoon snack. I can see that I will make them again and again because they are so easy. And this can certainly be a great side for any occasions. I am not sure about you but I will definitely be making these again for turkey day tomorrow.

Have a happy thanksgiving and for those who travel home, have a safe journey. Enjoy your turkey day and all the good food, but more importantly, enjoy the quality time with your family and loved ones!
