Sesame Garlic Grilled Shishito Peppers – now you can make this trendy restaurant appetizer at home in 10 minutes.
Ingredients
Grill on a medium-high grill over direct heat for about 4 minutes, turning halfway through.
In a small bowl, whisk together all of the ingredients. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
In a saucepot, combine the vinegar, water, sugar, ginger, red pepper flakes and salt. Bring to a boil.
Place the cabbage in a large bowl. Pour the hot liquid over the cabbage. Let steep for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Shishito peppers are Japanese peppers. They are generally mild, but occasionally you will come across a spicy one. Serve as an appetizer with Ponzu Aioli Dipping Sauce and Pickled Red Cabbage. Or, serve on a Gochujang Teriyaki Burger with Ponzu Aioli Dipping Sauce and Pickled Red Cabbage.
Ponzu sauce is similar to soy sauce with hints of citrus. You can find it in the Asian aisle of most supermarkets.
